Justin Timberlake Shares First Social Media Post Since DWI Arrest
View Date:2025-01-11 05:21:45
From the looks of Justin Timberlake's social media, no world tours have been ruined.
In fact, despite his DWI arrest June 17—during which he lamented the future of his Forget Tomorrow tour—Justin's first social media posts since his arrest prove he's already in a better place.
In his first post, Justin shared a reel to his June 25 Instagram Story showing off the merch for his back to back shows at New York's Madison Square Garden. "This is so important right now," the 43-year-old said as he held up the blue and orange shirt to the camera. "Let's go. Got y'all's Knicks colors. We had to do it."
His subsequent Story featured an animation of Justin over Madison Square Garden, with words indicating the first show that night was sold out.
While the "Cry Me a River" artists sold-out MSG shows brought about his return to social media, Justin's first show following his arrest was in Chicago June 21. It was there that he first addressed the events that transpired in Long Island's Sag Harbor.
"We've been together through ups and downs and lefts and rights, and it's been a tough week," Justin told the crowd, as seen in a fan's video shared on social media. "But you're here, and I'm here, and nothing can change this moment right now."
He added, "But you keep on loving me and I love you right back. Thank you so much."
Just four days earlier, Justin was pulled over by authorities during a traffic stop and was allegedly found to be in an "intoxicated condition," officials said in a report obtained by E! News. According to the local Sag Harbor Police department, the singer performed "poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests" and allegedly told one officer he had "one martini" before refusing to take a test for impairment before he was ultimately arrested.
Justin was released without bail the following morning and charged with one count of driving while intoxicated during an arraignment.
The following day, after news broke of Justin's arrest, a source with knowledge of the situation told E! News that "he was at dinner with friends."
"As he left the restaurant, there was a patrol car seemingly stationed near the restaurant," the source continued. "He was stopped and was arrested. Nobody was hurt."
Similarly, Justin's lawyer Edward Burke Jr. told E! News on June 19 that he and his team "look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake against these allegations."
"I will have a lot to say at the appropriate time," he continued, "but am currently awaiting full discovery from the District Attorney's office."
